Great Vampire Romance Books - Review of The Vampire Diaries - The Fury and Dark Reunion

The Vampire Diaries – The Fury and Dark Reunion is actually two vampire books in one. The vampire T.V. series “The Vampire Diaries” is actually based on this series of great vampire romance books by L. J. Smith. These two books are the sequels to the original vampire romance books of “The Awakening” and “The Struggle”.

In the first part of this vampire book series, “The Fury” begins with Elena coming to grips with being a vampire. She has all the needs and issues of a vampire, but still has her emotional attachment to Stephan and all her morals intact. Elena is faced with the dilemma of being a vampire but still has ties to her life as a human. There is a mystery involved and Elena struggles between Stephan and Damon for her affections.

The second book in Smith’s great vampire romance books series, “Dark Reunion” centers more on the characters of Bonnie and Meredith who try to track down a ‘power’ that is loose in Fell’s Creek and not only vampires come into play, but other old evils and devils, as well as werewolves too.

This ‘two books in one’ vampire book has all the great things anyone could want in a vampire romance book. The romance and power struggle between Stephan and Damon for Elena’s affections continues in this vampire book series and is heart-gripping. The book also has some fantastic action scenes and intriguing mysteries to solve along with that for the reader to enjoy.

Because this is a ‘two books in one’ part of a vampire book series, the reader is taken to a different place in the second book through the characters of Bonnie and Meredith. Elena is still referenced in the second book, but is more like a secondary character that is talked about, but not the main focus in this vampire story. Stephan and Damon are still very much in the picture, though, as they try to help Bonnie and Meredith try to solve the mystery of who is behind the ‘power’ that is out to destroy Fell’s Creek this time.

L. J. Smith has created a good read with her New York Times best selling vampire romance books series “The Vampire Diaries”. Anyone who is interested in a teen vampire book will enjoy this series. It has all the elements that a romantic will love, the conflict in characterization that makes it interesting, plus the mysteries to make it an intriguing read.

These two great vampire romance books offer views of both good and bad vampires. If you like the conflicting world of vampires, mystery, intrigue and a good romance then you should read this vampire book series. As vampire book reviews go, these two teen vampire books should get a rating of ten out of ten.
