This is the third part in a review of the Left Behind Series. It starts with the seventh book in the series,
The Indwelling: The Beast Takes Possession. The Anti-Christ has been assassinated. Can Christians truly rejoice that he is dead and gone? Those who are not Christians are now in the one world religion, where they bough down to a 24-foot bronze statue of Nicolae. What’s really scary is that as bad as the last three and a half years have been, the next three and a half promises to be even worse. Your mind marvels how this is even possible. But even though it is to get worse, Christians are giving hope that good news is on the way as well.
The eighth book, The Mark: The Beast Rules the World, tells the story with it’s title – Satan has possessed Nicolae’s body, as Nicolae comes back to life after being dead for three days. People are forced to take the mark of the beast on their hand or forehead. If you refuse, you are sent to be beheaded. The mark is followed by an implanted bio-chip with all your personal information.
Christians have built a complete underground system where they help each other survive with food, water and other needs.
The reader’s excitement grows as they think about getting close to the end, the time of the Glorious Appearing.
Desecration: Anti-Christ Takes the Throne, is the ninth book of the twelve book series. The Great Tribulation has begun and Nicolae’s leadership seems to be coming unglued. As Nicolae’s followers are cursed with sickness and sores, God’s followers are visited by heavenly messengers who bring them hope and encouragement.
Water has turned into blood, and Nicolae is on a gruesome killing spree. The title of the book refers to the temple in Jerusalem, as Nicolae enters and claims to be God, desecrating the temple.
Even though I wish they would have spent more time with developing the characters, it’s another can’t put down book that leaves you anxious to go on to the tenth book, The Remnant: On the Brink of Armageddon, which starts with millions of followers going to the city of Petra to wait for the Glorious Appearing of Christ. Of course Nicolae is set on destroying as many of them as possible, but God’s people are protected with a miracle. As the earth is plagued with more curses.
Followers of the series will readily grab up the eleventh book, Armageddon, excited that the end is drawing near and the Tribulation Force, as well as many armies meet in the Middle East as the final battle between good and evil draws near. In this book you don’t know who will be left standing. It seems there is no place safe left on earth. Everyone is having to relocate – the reader finds themselves eagerly awaiting the Glorious Appearance as though they are living through the end-times as well.
The world is no longer recognizable as the way we know it. As we put down the eleventh book we pick up the final one in the series, number twelve, Glorious Appearing, with a sense of satisfaction, anticipation and sadness that our journey is almost over. You definitely won’t be disappointed as the book takes us through four more battles, and then finally Jesus returns to destroy his evil enemies.
Supernatural lightning rains down from the sky and the enemies bullets can no longer harm the Christians. The reader is left emotionally satisfied as the thousand years of peace begins, and all loved ones are reunited. Beautiful.
