It is truly amazing when you read the top poems and contest winners from Junior High and High School, their ability to draw upon their creative genius takes your breath away. Many psychologists have theories as to why this is and since it is more common than we would expect it is worthy of study and research. The conclusion that many people come to is that younger adults have so many chemicals running through their brains and so much emotion bottled up that when they go to write poetry it pours onto the page.
Perhaps this is the case, but indeed, you have to see it to believe it, you must witness this first hand to understand, that young poets are superstars of the literary arts, and their work is grand. Some say that many young poets lack the patience or vocabulary to write deep emotional poetry, I have to disagree completely. In fact, I’d say their innocence and simplicity makes up for any lack of vocabulary. Fore simplicity is gold and brevity is divine.
To read and see these award winning poems by these top young poets, youth that dares to be heard and dares to speak out; one can only walk away with a new appreciation of humanity, the next generation and the wisdom that is flooding the pages. But, rather than me continue to explain why these poets are so great and are able to offer so much to us all. Let me recommend a book to you and you can read their poems yourself;
